Help Students Succeed Through a Payroll Deduction to SF's Legacy Scholarship
October 9, 2020
October 9, 2020 – Payroll deduction is an easy way for an employee to have a direct impact in a student's life. No amount is too little or too big, employees decide the amount to donate per pay period. In 2017, Bill Penny, AVP for Information Technology Services and CIO established the SF Legacy Scholarship to inspire faculty and staff to assist students attending Santa Fe College. We have a history at this college of putting students first. The work we do is extraordinary because we believe so completely in our mission providing opportunities to students.
"As a teenager, because of financial challenges, I didn't see a path to higher education It took many years of military service for me to find my way," Penny said. "So when I thought about my own personal legacy, I couldn't think of a better way to make a difference than by giving the gift of education to someone who faces the same financial challenges. The reality is that many who want a chance for a bright future need a helping hand. Sometimes that help can take the form of mentoring or simple encouragement. Thankfully, at SF we have a strong culture of volunteering our time to go the extra mile. But many times, financial assistance is the answer."
Thank you in advance for considering making a donation that will impact a student's life. Together we can make a difference and add value to the lives of our students. The electronic deduction form is available through eStaff. Click on My Information > My Documents > Public Documents > Foundation's Forms > Payroll Deduction – Scholarships.
