April 2, 2020
April 2, 2020 - Santa Fe College President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D., released a statement to the college community Thursday afternoon. His statement is below.
Dear Santa Fe family,
The College has made the important decision to extend the Temporary Alternative Work Assignments through May 1, 2020. As with previous extensions, details as to how full-time, part-time and TempForce employees may complete their service will be forthcoming.
The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) locally, as well as state and nationwide, is growing. As of April 1, there were 92 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Alachua County, 3 confirmed cases in Bradford County, more than 7,700 in Florida and more than 186,000 nationwide. We strongly urge each of you to continue to follow the CDC recommendations provided in the link below to protect yourself and your loved ones.
The College continues to consult key health and emergency personnel while also closely monitoring the latest guidance from federal, state and local health agencies to inform our decisions and ensure your safety and well-being. In accordance with Governor DeSantis' recent executive stay-at-home order, CDC recommendations, and recommendations from the US Surgeon General, the College will be providing important guidance for individuals age 65 or over and those with underlying medical conditions.
Please continue to check newSFeed and the college's COVID-19 webpage multiple times throughout the day for the current and official information from the college. Stay healthy.
