As We Continue Working Remotely, What Happens Next?
March 25, 2020
March 25, 2020 – As Santa Fe College enters the first full week of both students and staff practicing social distancing and staying away from all SF locations, college executive leadership continues to meet and discuss how to best serve students and support employees as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement to the college community Monday afternoon, SF President Paul Broadie II announced that the college has decided to extend remote operations via Temporary Alternative Work Assignments until at least Wednesday, April 15, 2020. The Executive Leadership also strongly encourages faculty and staff to check both the newSFeed as well as the college's COVID-19 webpage daily for the most updated, accurate and official information from the college, including information as to how full-, part-time and TempForce workers will complete their service to the college.
The Santa Fe College Help Desk remains available to help our faculty and staff provide support to our students while we are working remotely. You may contact the Help Desk at help.desk@sfcollege.edu or by calling 352-395-5999 Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Should your computer completely break down and become inoperable, Help Desk staff encourage you to contact them for a time when you can come to Building D on the Northwest Campus to drop off your computer and get a loaner while they fix your computer.
At some point, we will return to providing services from our offices on the Northwest Campus and all SF centers. Until that time, please know that the college will do everything possible to make our facilities the cleanest and safest possible.
Monday evening, the SF Facilities department began to oversee the cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing all SF locations. This includes every classroom, office, cubicle, door, keyboard, chair and any other touchpoint on any SF property. Once an office is completed, the office will be locked and completely inaccessible. These offices will remain closed until we get to the point when we are able to safely return to the college, in accordance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, local health agencies and any state or local regulations enacted during this pandemic.
