February 17, 2020 – The Santa Fe Saints women's basketball team saw their winning streak extend to nine games, with a 95-76 win on the road against DME Academy.
Zoe Alexander, a freshman out of Dr. Phillips High school, scored 16 points for the Saints while Danasia Bogle had 14 points, three steals and three assists off the bench.
SF improves to 18-10 on the season and 7-1 in the conference. The Saints wrap up regular season play Saturday in Jacksonville to face FSC-J at 2 p.m.
The Saints have clinched their second consecutive Mid-Florida Conference Championship and will advance to the NJCAA Region VIII/FCSAA State Tournament in Niceville, Fla. March 5-7.
SF's baseball team saw their 11-game winning streak end Saturday after they split a pair of games in Avon Park against South Florida State College.
Brooks Walton pitched a four-hit shutout in the opening game, as the Saints won 2-0. Their streak ended with a 4-0 loss in game two of the doubleheader, the team's first loss since January 27.
Despite the streak coming to an end, the Saints are 12-3 to start the season. They can try to start a new winning streak in Tallahassee this afternoon with a 4 p.m. first pitch against Tallahassee Community College.
The Saints softball (7 - 5)team was off this weekend. They will be in Tallahassee Tuesday for a pair of games against Tallahassee Community College before returning home for games against Eastern Florida State College Thursday beginning at 2 p.m.
SF's men's basketball team (10-17, 2-8 MFC) will play their final home game of the season Wednesday when they host Eastern Florida State College.
