Chance of Severe Weather This Afternoon and Evening

February 6, 2020 - The National Weather Service is reporting the threat of severe weather in Santa Fe College's Alachua and Bradford County service district. Strong, gusty winds of 30 – 40 mph can be expected in the mid-afternoon hours ahead of the rains which are expected to increase intensity in the evening.

For the SF service district, rainfall totals are expected to be between an inch and an inch and a half, with locally heavy downpours. There is also the potential for minor temporary flooding in areas with poor drainage. There is also the potential for damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

The college's emergency management team will continue to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and provide additional updates as needed.
