SF Basketball: Saints Men and Women Pick Up Wins

November 21, 2019 – Both the Santa Fe College men's and women's basketball teams picked up wins in Wednesday action. The men were 89-66 winners at home against Hillsborough Community College, while the women's team were in Tampa picking up a 78-71 win over the Hillsborough.
Twelve Saints on the men's team contributed with points, and four Saints scored in double figures, led by Luka Filipovic's 15 points and 11 rebounds. Dejuon Small had 13 points, Josiah Tynes added 12 and Nikola Jerotic had 10 points.
SF improves to 5-2 on the season and will head to Indian River State College Saturday, Nov. 23, for a 2 p.m. start.
The women's team overcame a slow first quarter with a strong second quarter en route to their 78 – 71 win.
Aleisha Curry had a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds, while Zoé Alexander ended the game with 14 points and seven rebounds. Taniah Bowers contributed five points with 11 rebounds while Danasia Bogle had four points and seven rebounds.
The victory evens the Saints record at 4 – 4 on the year. They will host DME Academy Friday for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
