SF's Learning Commons Certifies More Than 60 Tutors
November 14, 2019
November 14, 2019 – The tutor training program at Santa Fe College is part of the college's dedication to providing consistent, high-quality academic support to learners. In addition, this ongoing tutor training program is one of the Learning Commons' initiatives which is focused on increasing the accessibility and expanding the availability of academic support services to all students.
This program received its College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) International Tutor Training Program Level 1 Certification last January. Over 64 tutor employees have taken part in this tutor training program, demonstrating their commitment to this initiative as well as receiving the internationally accepted standard of skills and training for tutors.
Congratulations to all of the participants who have completed the program and the many others who will finish the program by the end of the semester. The Learning Commons team is grateful for the support from our administrators and our campus partners, especially Dr. Lisa Armour and Dr. Kathleen Arnold, sponsors of the program who donated funds to purchase official CRLA enamel pins in recognition of the tutors' achievement.
