NAACP Scholarship Available for SF Students

October 15, 2019 – Santa Fe College faculty members are encouraged to advise their students about the Dr. John C. Rawls NAACP Scholarship.
The Alachua County Branch of the NAACP proudly welcomes Santa Fe College (SF) students to apply for a $4,000 scholarship. The Dr. John C. Rawls NAACP Scholarship is for those who have graduated from an Alachua County public high school and are currently pursuing a career in teaching through studies at Santa Fe College. The scholarship will provide $2,000 for the spring 2020 semester AND $2,000 for either the summer 2020 semester or the fall 2020 semester. Applicants must complete an essay titled, "The Importance of Racial Equity in Education." The essay should be no more than 500 words and must be copied and pasted into this application. The selected recipient must attend the Annual NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at 6 p.m. at the Wyndham Garden Ballroom to be recognized. Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 1. Only completed applications will be considered.
