Santa Fe College and Community Partners Hold Career and Technical Education Summit

September 5, 2019

September 5, 2019 – Santa Fe College, in conjunction with the Alachua and Bradford County School districts, will hold a Career and Technical Education Summit Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the Best Western Gateway Grand Hotel, 4200 NW 97 Boulevard, in Gainesville.

This summit, 2030: Workforce Revolution, will serve as the kickoff for the new Carl D. Perkins grant initiatives (Perkins V) to advocate for workforce innovation in Alachua and Bradford Counties. The event will feature a keynote address from Josh Davies, CEO of the Center for Work Ethic Development. His address will focus on the evolution of the modern workplace and the effect automation and artificial intelligence will have on jobs in the future.

This event will facilitate meaningful dialogue that will engage employers, other agencies and institutions invested in workforce preparation. This also provides CTE administrators, faculty, and staff with professional development experience that will encourage them to rethink the future of workplace training and preparation, and how we can better prepare the communities we serve.
