Please join us for a Racial Equity Institute Groundwater Presentation
April 5, 2019
April 5, 2019 - The Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee is hosting a series of racial equity workshops for Santa Fe College leadership, faculty and staff. Currently scheduled are two Racial Equity Institute (REI) Groundwater Presentations for the general SF community and a Phase I workshop for college leadership. Additional workshops will be scheduled in the coming months for SF and for the local community. Read more about these trainings below and for additional details, visit https://www.sfcollege.edu/access-inclusion/initiatives/rei-trainings.
Groundwater Presentation
The Groundwater Presentation is a three-hour introduction to racial equity. In this lively presentation, REI organizers will use stories and data to present an argument that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. By examining the characteristics of modern-day racial inequity, the presentation introduces participants to an analysis that most find immediately helpful and relevant. The groundwater Presentation dovetails with REI's phase I workshop and is recommended as an introduction or follow-up to a full two-day workshop.
Participants are expected to stay for the entire workshop. Please bring paper, pen or other means to take notes.
We will be offering the same workshop twice to accommodate attendees' schedules. Register for either workshop at sfcollege.edu/access-inclusion/initiatives/rei-trainings.
