Santa Fe College Fine Arts Students to Light Up Fine Arts Hall for Autism Awareness

April 1, 2019

April 1, 2019 – Students in Santa Fe College's Fine Arts programs will be lighting the exterior of the SF Fine Arts Hall blue in honor of World Autism Awareness Day. Because of the potential of inclement weather Tuesday, the lighting will occur Wednesday, with students getting the lights set up throughout the afternoon and the lighting itself taking place at 7 p.m.

"Modern entertainment happens wherever people are, not just inside a venue," said Liz Reynolds, SF's Senior Instructional Specialist in Lighting Design. "This is a great opportunity to learn those technical challenges. Also, it gives students a chance to make an artistic statement about the issues that affect them."

In addition to students in the Fine Arts programs, students involved in SF's Spectrum of Success program, which is designed to help students on the autism spectrum, are also participating in the event.
