SF Learning Commons Hosts Presentation on Success March 14

March 13, 2019 – Santa Fe College's Learning Commons will host Stanford researcher, Omid Fotuhi, Thursday, March 14, at 8:30 a.m. for a presentation entitled, "How Myopic Mindsets Undermine Success."

Much of Dr. Fotuhi's work and research has focused on identifying obstacles to motivation and persistence, and creating carefully designed psychological interventions to improve important life outcomes in a range of domains, including health, sports performance and academic success. Dr. Fotuhi currently holds an appointment as a research associate in the Learning and Research Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh, and as project manager for the College Transition Collaborative at Stanford University.

As part of his mission to scale proven interventions and to disseminate practical insights from psychological research, Dr. Fotuhi is the Director of the Stanford Interventions Lab-a collaborative of researchers committed to the development and evaluation of psychological interventions to improve academic outcomes. Dr. Fotuhi is also the CEO and founder of Adaptive Mindsets, and strategy consulting organization committed to applying and scaling empirically validated research strategies to real-world environments.

The presentation will be held in Building W, Room 279/280.
