January 30, 2019 – The Florida Museum of Natural History and Santa Fe College Art Gallery have partnered to open SF's newest art display with an opening reception scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8, from 7 – 9 p.m.

The Florida Museum and Santa Fe Art Gallery have been working over the last year with Gainesville artists to create the pieces that will be on display at the gallery. The exhibition will be comprised of paintings, drawings, ceramics, film, photography and digital media from the SciArt events hosted in 2018.

"Through the work of our participating artists we hope to display and celebrate the connection between art and science," said Santa Fe Gallery manager Kyle Novak.

Works made by students at both schools and by artists in the Gainesville community who attended 2018's SciArt meetups will be on display from Feb. 8 to Mar. 15. The Santa Fe College Art Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"I'm excited to share with the Gainesville community the awesome work that has been created during the 2018 meetups," said Florida Museum educator Chelsea Collison.
