Santa Fe College's Focus on the Future Program Hosts Computer Skills Workshop at CIED

January 29, 2019

Gainesville, Florida – Santa Fe College's Focus on the Future, Displaced Homemaker program will host a series of computer skills workshops at SF's Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED) at 530 West University Avenue, in Gainesville.

The workshops will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, Thursday, Feb. 21, Wednesday, Feb. 27, and Thursday, Feb. 28. The purpose of the workshops is to give people the introductory steps needed to develop a resume and begin the process of applying for jobs online.

Focus on the Future Coordinator, JoAnn Wilkes, said there is a great need in the community for these skills. "Unfortunately, so many jobs today only offer online applications," Wilkes said. "Developing these basic skills to get a job are vital for so many families in our community."

Wilkes also said the sessions would be held at the CIED, because it is easier for people to get there from downtown and East Gainesville, as opposed to holding the workshops at the Northwest Campus.

Registration is required by Feb. 18, and for more information, contact 352-395-5047.
