SF Volleyball: Saints Sweep Pasco Hernando State College

October 26, 2018

October 26, 2018 - On an emotional evening with seven sophomores being honored for their final home match, the Saints volleyball team swept past Pasco Hernando by the scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-23 to improve to 19-2 overall for the season.

Once again NJCAA No. 17 SF was led by Ocala sophomore Leah Wilcox with 13 kills and a .314 hitting percentage while totaling only two hitting errors on 34 attempts. The Saints as a team only had six hitting errors on 98 swings showing great patience and discipline against a pesky PHSC team.

"We knew it was going to be a battle of low error teams," said head coach Nick Cheronis. "The players really bought into what a grind the match would be and did not flinch."

The Saints continued their great blocking run with nine team blocks, and was led by sophomore Jocelyn Garcia with six.

SF has one more tune-up match against NJCAA No. 1 ranked Miami Dade Saturday before heading to the FCSAA Region 8 tournament in Bradenton, Florida, Nov. 2-4.
