"Sing Into Spring" Concert Set for April 26 in SF Fine Arts Hall

April 12, 2018

April 12, 2018 - The Santa Fe Singers, under the direction of Santa Fe College Music Professor Lynn Sandefur, will present their annual "Sing Into Spring" concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, in the SF Fine Arts Hall, 3000 NW 83 Street, Gainesville.

Tickets are $15 main floor and $12 balcony for adults; $9 for seniors, children and University of Florida students; and free for SF students, faculty and staff with valid SF ID. For ticket information, call the SF Box Office at 352-395-4181 or visit the SF Fine Arts ticket website at sfcollege.edu/finearts.

"There are 65 students who are involved in this production," explained Sandefur. "We have 40 singers who will be accompanied by instrumentalists and dancers, and students from the theatre technology classes will assist with the production."

According to Sandefur, the program is "a true variety chorale with different types of music from different eras, with a mysterious and dramatic beginning you do not want to miss! There are Broadway songs you want to hear, sung by our talented soloists and chorus. There is a nostalgic trip to the 1950s with an emotional roller coaster of songs that are sad, thoughtful, joyous, happy and funny. Santa Fe College's own 'Il Divo' group will perform and the Women's Pop Ensemble will sing 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy' by The Andrews Sisters. This will be a fun-filled evening of song!"

The concert is sponsored in part by Santa Fe College, SF Student Life, and the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture and Visit Gainesville, a Tourist Development Tax Grant from the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners in conjunction with the Alachua County Tourist Development Council.
