Saints Fall to Dotson and the Patriots, 88-75

January 18, 2018

January 18, 2018 – College of Central Florida sophomore forward Carlos Dotson had the best all-around game of his career Wednesday against the Santa Fe Saints, pouring in 33 points to go with 18 rebounds as the nationally ranked Patriots defeated SF 88-75. The loss is the first at home this season for the Saints who are now 11-1 in the SF Gym.

"We didn't have an answer for Dotson all game long," said SF Coach Chris Mowry. "They beat us in the paint, outhustled us, and just played better."

SF took an early 6-0 lead, but a 13-0 run by CF gave them an advantage they would hold onto for the rest of the game.

The FCSAA No. 7 Saints fought back over the final four minutes of the first half to turn a double-digit deficit into just a five point disadvantage at the break, 37-32.

In the second half, the Saints (14-6, 2-1 MFC) got it as close as four points, but CF turned it on and stretched the margin to 19, putting the game out of reach late in the second half.

Malik Morrow led SF scorers with 24 points, Ivan Smith had 14, D-Juan Taylor-Hodge 11, and Alsean Evans had 10.

The Saints will hit the road Saturday, January 20 when they take on their second nationally ranked team in as many games, Eastern Florida State College at 4 p.m. in Melbourne. The Titans are currently ranked No. 7 in the latest NJCAA poll.
