Saints Split Pair of Matches in Ocala

October 9, 2017 – The Santa Fe Saints Volleyball team played two top ranked teams Saturday and came out with a win against a strong St. Petersburg team after a loss to the hosts College of Central Florida.
"To come out of a weekend going 1-1 against ranked teams is quite an accomplishment for our team," said SF Coach Nick Cheronis. "We have come a long way since getting swept by St. Pete on opening weekend."
FCSAA fifth-ranked CF (11-6) played at a high level in the first match of the day, sweeping the Saints 25-10, 25-16, 25-27.
SF (7-12, 3-1 PC) bounced back in a big way in their second match, defeating FCSAA third-ranked St. Petersburg College (11-2) in four sets 26-24, 25-22, 20-25, 25-20, handing the Titans just their second loss of the season.
Leah Wilcox and Sterling Williamson led the way with 13 kills each on the day and Hannah Rodrigues had 20 digs.
The Saints next match will be on the road Friday, Oct. 13, at Pensacola State at 7 p.m. They stay on the road Saturday for a match against Gulf Coast State at 7 p.m.
