September 20, 2017

September 20, 2017 – The Santa Fe College Fine Arts Hall was host to the Alachua County Legislative Delegation meeting Tuesday, Sept. 19. State Senator Keith Perry, along with Representatives Chuck Clemons and Clovis Watson heard concerns from local elected officials as well as area residents about their concerns for the upcoming legislative session.

County officials are seeking more money from the state to allow the proposed county fairgrounds building to be a shelter facility if and when the next hurricane impacts the region.

State Representative, and Santa Fe College VP for Advancement, Chuck Clemons said he would work with the regions legislators to bring the concerns of the community to Tallahassee in next year's regular legislative session. Clemons also encouraged people to stay in touch with their elected officials to help guide the agenda for the coming year.
