Haydee Britton of the ESL Lab presents "Children of the Congo"

haydee-poster1June 13, 2017 - Santa Fe College adjunct professor Haydee Britton, will present Saturday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at the Alachua County Library Headquarters (meeting room B) in Gainesville. The topic will be about her work with the children of the Democratic Republic of the Congo while working for the United Nations Child Protection Section. Her work included helping 30 children realize their dream of leaving poverty and earn their college degrees.

Professor Britton currently teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) Basic Reading at Santa Fe College. Before working at Santa Fe College, Britton taught at the University of Florida English Language Institute. She worked at the United Nations for most of her career (37.5 years) where she participated in three United Nations Peace Keeping Operations: Cambodia, Haiti, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
