Tree Kangaroo Awareness Day
May 15 at 5:20 p.m.
May 15, 2017 – It’s a bear! It’s a monkey! No, it’s a tree kangaroo! You heard right.
The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is home to the Matschie’s tree kangaroo, an endangered
species native to a small area of Papua New Guinea. Bring the whole family out to
the Zoo on Sunday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to see these rare, majestic animals
and learn how you can help them in the wild.
The kids can enjoy fun kangaroo themed crafts and games, while the adults can savor a sample of Caffe Vita’s Papua New Guinea Yopno Uruwa Som coffee. Caffe Vita collaborates with the Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program to bring this shade grown coffee blend to the United States and we will be selling bags to further support the cause. Our zookeepers will be out in full force to show guests training demonstrations, give keeper talks and introduce you to some of our amazing animal ambassadors!
Admission:
