SF FASTPITCH: Saints Split Double Header with #6 Team in the Nation

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints scored nine runs on 14 hits in game one of a double header against the #6 team in the NJCAA poll, defeating Seminole State College by a score of 9-3. Six players had multiple hits including three from Bailee Moll and Adrix Paradizo-Ramos.

The Saints (26-17, 9-9 MFC) didn't score until the fourth when they plated a pair of runs on a deep homerun by Hassiette Escudero over the left field foul pole.

Seminole (44-5, 17-3 MFC) tied it in the fifth but SF bounced right back with three runs in the fifth on a RBi single from Paradizo-Ramos and a two RBI double by Escudero that bounced off the top of the center field fence.

Evelyn Arguelles knocked a pair of runs in in the sixth, and Shailynn Morales and Paradizo-Ramos knocked in one each to make it a 9-2 game.

Seminole got one back in the seventh, but that is as close as they would make it. Autumn Green finished off the complete game, going the distance, scattering six hits to secure the 9-3 win.

Natalia Bellinger, Shailynn Morales, Arguelles, and Escudero all had two hits each.

Game two started a lot like game one, with both teams scoreless through the early part of the game. The scoreless streak continued until the sixth when Seminole State put four runs across with the help of two Santa Fe errors and a mental mistake that lead to a three run homer.

Saints starting pitcher Kaylan Tucker was the tough luck loser in the circle despite pitching a solid game, allowing just four hits and no earned runs in the 4-1 loss.

The Saints will travel to Jacksonville Sunday, April 9, to take on Florida State College-Jacksonville at 1 p.m.
