Five Saints Honored by Mid-Florida Conference

Gainesville, FL – Five Santa Fe College Saints were honored recently for their play on the court in 2016-17, three first team All-MFC and two on the second team.
A pair of impact freshman made the first team, David-Lee Jones and D-Juan Taylor-Hodge. Jones led the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game, upping that to 16.3 in Mid-Florida Conference play. He also lead the Saints with 5.5 assists per game and was second in steals with 45.
Taylor-Hodge scored 11.6 points per game and lead the team with six rebounds per contest. His best game of the season came in the finale when he scored 30 points in the SF Saints 20-point win over the College of Central Florida.
Sophomore Josh Hawkins was the third Saint honored on the First Team despite his season ending prematurely on Jan. 28. Hawkins averaged 12.6 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists.
Freshman Darrell Jones (9.3 ppg, 5.3 apg) and sophomore Nick Grier (9.7 ppg, 5.4 rpg) were named to the MFC Second Team.
