Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe College Saints held on in the first game of a double header with the high-powered College of Central Florida, defeating the Patriots 4-3. CF bounced back for a 7-0 win in the second game. The game one loss was the first MFC loss for the Patriots this season.
Autumn Green held the Patriots in check game one, shutting them out through the first six innings. CF made it interesting in the seventh scoring three before the Saints (19-10, 3-3 MFC) put them away.
Alison Sievers got Santa Fe College on the board in the fourth with a pinch-hit RBI single. SF added three more in the sixth on back to back doubles by Bailee Moll and Adrix Paradizo-Ramos.
The Saints would need every one of those runs as the Patriots rally fell just short in the seventh with three runs.
Game two was all Central Florida from the outset. They scored two runs in the second, one in the fourth, and four in the sixth. Moll continued her hot hitting in game two, going 3-for-3, and Natalia Bellinger had two hits.
The SF Saints will be back in action on Tuesday, March 21, at 2:30 p.m. in double header action at Seminole State College.
