Escudero, Bellinger and The Saints Sweep FSC-J, 4-0 and 7-3

Gainesville, FL – Haissette Escudero and Natalia Bellinger led a potent Santa Fe College Saints offensive attack Thursday afternoon, pacing SF (18-7, 2-2 MFC) past Florida State College-Jacksonville 4-0 and 7-3.

Escudero led the way in the first game, knocking in three runs, including a two run homer. Autumn Green was a force in the circle, going the distance, allowing just four hits with two strikeouts to earn the complete game shutout win.

In game two Bellinger was the star, going 3-for-4 with a homerun, four RBI and two runs scored. Not to be outdone, Shailynn Morales was 3-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI. Escudero finished 1-for-3 with three runs scored and two stolen bases.

The big inning came for Santa Fe College in the fourth when they scored four runs after falling behind 3-2.

Brielle Morichetti picked up the win with 4.2 innings and Kaylan Tucker the save, finishing off the last 2.1

The Saints will try and keep the momentum when the College of Central Florida visits Gainesville Saturday, March 18, for a double header at 1 p.m.
