SAINTS PICK UP TWO ONE-RUN WINS OVER LINCOLN LAND, 3-2 AND 9-8
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe College Saints didn't make it easy on themselves, but still came away with two wins on Wednesday afternoon against visiting Lincoln Land CC (IL), the first 3-2 and the second 9-8.
Autumn Green went the distance from the circle in game one to earn the win. The Saints three runs came on RBI by Evelyn Arguelles, Cassandra Garcia, and Hassiette Escudero. Runs in the fifth and sixth helped SF overcome a 2-1 deficit.
Game two saw the FCSAA #10 Saints (14-7) fall behind 5-0 through four and a half innings. Things changed in the bottom of the fifth when the Santa FE bats came alive and put eight runs on the board, highlighted by the first career grand slam for Adrix Paradizo-Ramos that gave the Saints the lead.
Lincoln Land threatened in the seventh, scoring three runs, but Kaylan Tucker came in to record the final out, earning the save. Paola Flores picked up the win.
Paradizo-Ramos was 2-for-3 with four RBI, Escudero was 2-for-4, and Garcia 2-for-3.
The Saints will hit the road tomorrow for a double header with Palm Beach State College at 2:00 PM.
