Gainesville, FL – The Mid-Florida Conference season didn't get off to the start that Coach Chris Ahern and the Santa Fe College Saints were looking for as they fell to the Daytona State College Falcons on the road 12-4 and 3-1. They will have plenty of games to rebound with 22 remaining on the schedule.
The Flacons came out on fire in game one, scoring eight runs in the first three innings in route to a five inning win.
The Saints held game two closer, taking a lead in the second inning. DSC answered with a pair of runs and added an insurance run in the sixth.
Shailynn Morales was a bright spot for the Saints. She finished with three hits on the day, a homerun and three RBI.
Santa Fe (16-9, 0-2 MFC) will have a chance to bounce back on Thursday, March 16 when Florida State College-Jacksonville visits Gainesville for a 2:30 p.m. double header.
