SF BASEBALL POLK STATE DEFEATS SANTA FE, 17-7

Gainesville, FL – Polk State College (11-2) brought their bats to Gainesville Monday afternoon, handing the NJCAA #8 Saints (10-4) just their fourth loss of the season, 17-7. The Eagles win also ends a five game Santa Fe winning streak.

Polk opened the scoring with four in the second and continued their hot hitting from there, finishing with 17 runs. The 17 runs surrendered is the most the Saints have allowed since April 2014.

The Saints put a pair of runs on the board in the bottom of the second, two in the sixth, two in the seventh, and one in the eighth.

Dillon Reed led the SF offense with three hits and Wyatt Meisterhans had two. The two teams combined for 24 runs and 31 hits.

The Saints will try and start a new winning streak Wednesday at home against St. Petersburg College at 3 p.m.
