SF FASTPITCH SAINTS TAKE GAME ONE OVER EFSC 8-0, FALL IN GAME TWO 7-2

Gainesville, FL – The FCSAA #10 Santa Fe Saints (7-4) continued their road trip Sunday in Cocoa, batting Eastern Florida State College. Game one was all SF as they blitzed the Titans 8-0 in a game cut short by the mercy rule in six innings. Game two did not go the way of the Saints. EFSC came out of the gates on fire and finished a 7-2 win to salvage a split.

From the outset, the Saints controlled game one. They put a run on the board in the first on a RBI hit by Bailee Moll, two more in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and capped the scoring in the sixth with two runs on three hits and RBI for Moll and Charlene Contreras.

The Saints racked up 12 hits and hit a solid .462 for the game. Moll was 2-for-2 with three RBI, Haissette Escuardo was 2-for-2 with a RBI, and Shailynn Morales was 2-for-4.

Autumn Green picked up the win, going 4.1 innings in relief of starter Brielle Morichetti.

In the second game, Eastern Florida bounced back in a big way, defeating the Saints 7-2.

EFSC starting pitcher Gillian Heinritz controlled the Saints bats, holding them to seven hits.

Santa Fe College will stay on the road Thursday, Feb. 16 at St. Petersburg College.
