SF MEN'S BASKETBALL SAINTS PICK UP BIG 85-61 WIN OVER HILLSBOROUGH CC

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints took care of business Saturday in a nonconference affair against Hillsborough CC, defeating the Hawks 85-61.
A run by the Saints (14-7) toward the end of the first half turned a four-point game at the 4:43 mark into a 13-point SF halftime lead. The run was started on the strength of Nick Peacock's third three-pointer of the half. Darrell Jones finished the run with a layup in the closing seconds, giving the Saints a 39-26 advantage.
In the second half, the Saints built their lead up to as many as 25 before closing out the 24-point win.
"We shot the ball very well today," said SF Coach Chris Mowry. "We still have some improvements to make and need to keep getting better every day in practice."
Josh Hawkins led the Saints with 17 points, Darrell Jones had 16, and Nick Grier had 16.
Santa Fe will resume MFC play next Saturday at Florida State College-Jacksonville at 4 p.m.
