SF WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SAINTS PULL AWAY FROM FSC-J FOR 71-44 WIN

The Santa Fe Saints remained undefeated in the Mid-Florida Conference Wednesday evening, defeating Florida State College-Jacksonville 71-44 to move to 2-0 in MFC play and 9-6 overall.

The game was never in doubt as the Saints built an early double digit lead in the first quarter and eventually went into the locker room at halftime up 36-24.

The Bluewave fought back in the third quarter, cutting the lead to eight three minutes in. After a Santa Fe timeout, the Saints scored 15 straight points to pull away for the 27 point win.

SF outscored FSC-J in three of the four quarters and didn't allow more than 13 points in any quarter.

Arianna Emanuel-Wright led all scorers with 18 points and also added six rebounds. Corey Staples had 15 points, including three three pointers. Rayven Wade had a solid game at both ends of the floor, racking up 13 points, eight rebounds and four steals.

The Saints next game will be on the road against MFC rivals Daytona State College Saturday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. The next home game for SF is Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
