Saints Fall In Close Contest With Florida Southwestern

The Santa Fe Saints took an undefeated Florida Southwestern in Ft. Myers on Friday, and took them to the limit, falling 90-84. SF is now 7-4 and SWF improves to 9-0.
The game was back and forth for the first eight minutes, with the two teams trading the lead. SWF started to pull away over the rest of the second half, but Santa Fe fought back, keeping it at an eight point margin at the break.
In the second half the Buccaneers stretched the margin to 15 but Santa Fe slowly chipped away, making it a three point game with two minutes to go.
FSW took advantage of a rushed shot by the Saints on the other end and turned it into a dunk, pushing their lead back out to five. From there they made their free throws to hang on and remain undefeated.
Five players scored in double figures, including 22 from sophomore Josh Hawkins. David-Lee Jones finished with 15 points, Elias Eerikinharju had 12, Sean Dinkins 11, and Lazar Djurovic 10.
