Saints Come Up Short Against South Georgia Tech

December 1, 2016

A slow start was too much for the Saints to overcome on Wednesday evening against South Georgia Tech as Santa Fe College fell to the Jets 73-55.

"We didn't play very inspired tonight and didn't play with any urgency," said SF Coach Chanda Stebbins. "When you play a talented team like this you have to be ready to go from the opening tip."

The FCSAA #8 Saints (4-4) trailed by eight at the half, but the third quarter is what did them in. SGT outscored SF by a score of 27-8, pulling away in the process. Santa Fe College bounced back for their best quarter in the fourth, showing some resiliency by outscoring the Jets 19-10.

Leading scorer Ari Emanuel-Wright scored a team high 19 points and Rayven Wade added 15 to lead Santa Fe.

Next up for the Saints is a neutral site game against Palm Beach State College on Dec. 2 at 5:00 p.m. in Tallahassee.
