November 7, 2016

The third time was a charm for Santa Fe in Pensacola as the Saints picked up an 87-77 win over Faith Baptist Prep on Saturday during the final day of the Pirate Classic.

The Saints (1-2) jumped out in the early going on Faith Baptist and lead by 12 at the half, 38-26.

They continued to control the pace in the second half and never lost the lead. FB got within four at the end of the game, but SF nailed their free throws to secure their first victory of the season.

David Jones paced a strong SF offense with 20 points. Josh Hawkins chipped in 15 for SF and D-Juan Taylor-Hodge had 12.
Santa Fe made 10 three pointers as a team.

The Saints will take a week off before returning to the court for their home opener against State College of Florida on November 12 at 2:00 PM.

"It was good to get a win after a long weekend against some great competition," said SF Coach Chris Mowry. "I am looking forward to getting the guys back in the gym next week to continue getting better."
