MIAMI DADE DEFEATS SAINTS IN FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME
October 31, 2016
The Saints didn't end the regular season like they would have wanted to, but Coach Nick Cheronis found enough positives to believe SF (15-10) is ready to go for the FCSAA Tournament on November 4-6 in Bradenton.
Miami Dade came out of the gates hot and controlled the pace of the match, winning the first set 25-19. They continued their impressive play in the second set, defeating Santa Fe 25-13. In the third set the Saints played much better, but still fell 25-23.
"We definitely tapped into our energy in the third set but it was a little too late," said Cheronis. "Hopefully we can carry that momentum over to the FCSAA Tournament."
The Mid-Florida Conference #3 seed Saints will battle Southern Conference champions Palm Beach State College in the first round of the FCSAA Tournament on November 4 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bradenton Civic Center. Santa Fe defeated the Panthers 3-0 in Gainesville on August 27. Full details and a bracket can be found here: http://thefcsaasports.com/championships/fcsaa_volleyball_tournament
