Communications & Creative Services Multimedia Specialist, Aaron Daye, is leaving Santa Fe College to begin a new endeavor at the University of Florida.

Daye came to Santa Fe College nearly 5 years ago after leaving the Gainesville Sun where he became the first African-American staff photographer in the newspaper's 137-year history. Daye started at SF as a contract photographer in 2011, helping usher the college into a new era sense of creativity.

Through his keen understanding of higher education, Daye secured a full-time staff position in the fall of 2013. His skills in creatively reaching people across various venues allowed him to touch many lives as a Multimedia Specialist for Santa Fe College, a photographer, graphic designer and a brand ambassador for the Santa Fe Saints rebrand as well as serving as the newly appointed board member with the Santa Fe College Association of Alumni and Friends.

In his time at Santa Fe College, Daye has represented the college well in the Gainesville community through public speaking events such as Social Media Breakfast Gainesville and the American Advertising Federation as well in competitions both regionally and nationally.

Daye has received an astounding six AFC Awards of Excellence, seven Communications & Marketing Commission Awards with the Association of Florida Colleges, 14 Medallion Awards and two National Paragon Awards with the National Conference for Marketing and Public Relations.

His unwavering commitment to Santa Fe College has always resonated through his professional demeanor, his eagerness to help departments, his colleagues and students as well as his wonderful sense of humor.

Daye leaves his mark on Santa Fe College in various marketing publications such as the SF Viewbook and the SF Partnership Magazine, displays of his work in various locations on campus such as the Coffee 101 Café Starbucks, the SF Bookstore, the SF Gym and the Educational Media Studio Gallery, as well as off campus with displays in the Newberry Road Applebee's and the Lake City Applebee's.
