TOP RANKED SAINTS BASEBALL HANDLE SEMINOLE STATE 8-2

A day after dropping just their second conference game of the season, the Santa Fe Saints (32-5, 13-2 MFC) were back to their winning ways, defeating Seminole State College in Sanford 8-2. Kyle Morton and Call Graham combined to allow just one earned run while striking out seven.
FCSAA #1/Perfectgame.org #5 Santa Fe scored first, plating a run in the second, and Seminole answered right back to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning.
SF leading hitter Hugo Valdes broke the 1-1 tie with a two RBI single in the fifth. SSC cut the lead in half with a run in the sixth to make it 3-2.
Kyle Phillips scored in the top of the seventh on a fielder's choice to push the lead back to two, and in the ninth the Saints exploded for four runs on three hits, including a two RBI hit by Haydn Cano, and a RBI double by Matt Allen.
Call Graham pitched the final four innings in relief of Morton (4-2) to earn his fifth save of the season.
Haydn Cano had one of his best games as a Saints, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Matt Allen was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, and Hugo Valdes was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
The Saints and Raiders will meet up again on Wednesday in Gainesville at 3:00 PM.
