Times Talks promote democracy at SF

January 20, 2016

Times Talks are open conversations about important and controversial issues in the news and are part of Santa Fe College's efforts to promote greater civic engagement at SF. They are an opportunity for students, faculty members and other members of the college community to sit as equals and exchange views on important issues in a casual, informal and civil environment. Times Talks are moderated each time by a different volunteer faculty or student facilitator. These events provide a wonderful opportunity to participate in the sort of vigorous and engaging discussion of important issues that is needed in a democracy.

The first "Times Talk" of spring term will be held on Wednesday, Jan, 20, at 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Lawrence W. Tyree Library. The topic for this talk will be "Elections: Is Democracy being Hi-jacked by Big Money."

All are welcome to attend, but if you RSVP by sending an email to alan.beck@sfcollege.edu, you will receive background articles for the talk, and you will get on the mailing list to be informed of future events.
