Wade and the Saints defeat #8 Pensacola 58-48

November 25, 2015

Rayven Wade made her presence felt at both ends of the floor on Tuesday night against #8 Pensacola State College, leading the Saints with 14 points and 15 rebounds in their 58-48 victory over the Pirates. The win improves the SF record to 5-5, and also gave them their second win over an FCSAA top 10 team. The first came against #6 Tallahassee CC on November 17.

Wade led a defensive effort that held PSC to just 30% shooting from the field, and just 1-for-12 from behind the three point line.

The Saints never trailed against the Pirates and built as much as a 17 point lead in the first half before taking an eight point lead into the locker room. Desa'Rai Shaw came up with two big three pointers off the bench in the second quarter to help build the lead.

PSC made a run in the fourth quarter to cut the margin to six on two occasions but never got closer as the Saints came up with key stops and made their free throws down the stretch to secure a 10 point win.

Joining Wade in double figures was Shaw with 15 points, and Evelina Avleeva with 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Saints will take a few days off before returning to the court on December 4 and 5 against Northwest Florida State College. Friday's game will be at 7:00 PM and Saturday at 1:00 PM
