STEM FEST 2015 featured international and local speakers

STEM Fest 2015 at the SF Perry Center for Emerging Technologies in Alachua featured keynote speaker, Dr. Dario Palmieri, visiting Professor from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Brazil. Dr. Palmieri talked about the Biotechnology field in Brazil: higher education and work opportunities. Local scientist and entrepreneur, Jennifer DeGraff Moses and Rick Staab from the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution (FAME) and InterMed, respectively, also shared with students, professors and general audience about "What is a Biotechnologist?" and What impact does Biomedical engineering have on the community. The number of attendees ranged from 35 to 45 and students enjoyed the presentations because they could relate with each speaker who shared their journey from the time they were students to their current positions.
