Saints earn sweep of Webber International in state tournament tune-up match

In their first of two FCSAA State Tournament tune-up matches, the Saints (20-6, 7-3 MFC) made quick work of Webber International University on Wednesday evening in Babson Park, defeating the Warriors 25-14, 25-11, 26-16.

The Saints showed a balanced attack with Nadine Williams picking up eight kills, Amber Hendry had seven kills, and Kaylin Powell had five. Julie Fuchs led defensively with five blocks.

Santa Fe will play one more match, against Miami Dade College on Saturday, October 31 at 12 noon in Daytona. Following that match the team will have a few days off in preparation for the FCSAA Tournament in Gulf Breeze on November 6-8 at the Gulf Breeze Community Center.

The Saints first game of the tournament will come against Mid-Florida Conference champions the College of Central Florida on Friday, November 6 at 10 a.m. central time.
