SF earns 19th victory with win over Lake Sumter

October 21, 2015

The FCSAA #3/NJCAA #8 Santa Fe Saints moved one step closer to a possible Mid-Florida Conference championship on Tuesday evening, defeating Lake Sumter State College in straight sets. The Saints made quick work of the Lakehawks, winning 25-9, 25-16, 25-13. The win was the second this season for Santa Fe over LSSC.

Nadine Williams was a focal point for the offense, collecting 13 kills. She also did work on the defensive side, picking up seven digs and six blocks. Kasey Valentin did her job defensively as well, digging 10 balls.

The win moves SF to 19-5 on the season, and 7-2 in the Mid-Florida Conference and set up a match for MFC supremacy on Thursday against the College of Central Florida. Should the Saints win in Gainesville over the Patriots, they will again claim a share of the conference title with CF, and possibly Daytona State as well.

The two teams will clash at 6 p.m. in the Santa Fe Gym on Thursday, October 22.
