Join Times Talk Oct. 21
October 12, 2015
All students, faculty members, and other members of the Santa Fe College community are invited to participate in the second of our ongoing "Times Talks" on Wednesday, Oct. 21 in the Santa Fe College library lobby.
Times Talks are open conversations about important and controversial issues in the news, and are part of Santa Fe College's efforts to promote greater civic engagement on campus. They are an opportunity for students, faculty members, and other members of the campus community to sit as equals in a casual atmosphere (over some pizza) and to exchange views on important issues in a casual, informal and civil environment.
Times talks are open conversations moderated each time by a different volunteer faculty or student facilitator.
These events provide a wonderful opportunity to participate in the sort of vigorous and engaging discussion of important issues that is needed in a democracy.
Our second Times Talk will be moderated by Professor of History Courtney Taylor. The topic is to be decided.
If you are interested and are considering attending, please R.S.V.P. to Prof. Alan Beck at alan.beck@sfcollege.edu. A few days before the event, you will receive an announcement of the topic and a couple of recent New York Times articles to provide you with background for the discussion.
