September 15, 2015
Join us Sept. 18, from 2:30-3:45 p.m. in WA-108, for a presentation by Omid Fotuhi, a researcher and project manager of the Interventions Lab at Stanford University. Fotuhi will discuss low-cost, small interventions that have a big impact on student retention and success. Fotuhi's work focuses on developing social psychological interventions to boost student achievement and well-being and to narrow group disparities among college students. Collaborating with Carole Dweck, Geoffrey Cohen, Greg Walton, David Yeager and others, Fotuhi oversees multi-institution projects designed to scale up interventions to foster students' adaptive mindsets. Prior to his current position, Fotuhi was a researcher with the World Health Organization. He earned his Ph.D in Social Psychology and a Master's in Health Psychology from the University of Waterloo.
Fotuhi will also offer a separate workshop for faculty from 12:45-2 p.m. in S-326/327. The faculty workshop will focus on Improving Student Engagement and Learning. Contact Rhonda Morris at rhonda.morris@sfcollege.edu for more information.
