STEM Camp at the Perry Center June 23-29

June 26, 2015

STEM Camp got off to a great start last week by introducing the kids to rocketry, where they were able to build and launch their own rockets. This activity was followed by teaching the kids more on solar energy and they built their own solar planes. Discussions and explorations into proteins provided the students with valuable lab experience.

During the middle of the week, the students were able to visit the Seahorse Key Marine Laboratory and enjoy the island while doing some scientific explorations. On their way back from Seahorse Key, they had close encounters with the dolphins as they swam alongside their boat.

As the week came to an end, the students experienced 3-D printing, which will prove to be very educational. The STEM Camp this year has so far proven to be one of the most exciting adventures for the 8th grade students.
