Julie Warmke Robitaille retires after 40 years at Santa Fe
April 27, 2015
Julie Warmke Robitaille, who has served Santa Fe College for 40 years, will move onto the next chapter in her life upon her retirement next week. But, her educational legacy at SF and beyond will continue through her curriculum contributions and all of the students she has helped along the way.
Julie received a B.A. in English from Emory University, an M.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an M.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Florida, which she has put to good use over her time at Santa Fe.
For 20 of her 40 years at Santa Fe College, Julie worked with Bob Connelly, developing the Prep Writing textbook and CD-ROM, Writing Resource, a tool of example and practice modules designed to enhance confidence and skill in students. In addition to its use at SF, it has been implemented throughout the nation.
Popular among students nationwide, ratemyprofessor.com is a website where students assess the quality of an instructor and assign a score. Julie receives a 4.5 out of 5 and high acclaim with much thanks from students for the dedication she offered and the push she gave, preparing them for the next level in their studies. She receives an even higher level of regard for having written the text used in the class.
Beyond her academic contributions, Julie is also an accomplished artist. She has been featured in the President's Art Gallery at Santa Fe, and at the highly respected Downtown Arts Festival.
Congratulations to Julie for a job well done, and for her educational impact on so many. Julie has been a top rate professor and contributor for the number one community college in the nation.
