2016-2017 Fulbright Scholar Program Now Open
April 13, 2015
The Fulbright Scholarship was established after World War II to facilitate U.S. and foreign exchanges and thus improve our government's relationship with other countries. Administered by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright Scholar Program provides approximately 800 teaching and/or research grants in over 125 countries to U.S. faculty each year.
Applicants can propose projects for a period of two to twelve months, as specified in the award description. Scholars also may propose multiple, short-term stays in the host country over a period of two to three years. Applications that propose grant periods during the host institution's academic year are preferred.
Specific details on invitation requirements and grant length will vary by country, and can be found in each individual award listing. The full list of Flex grant opportunities can be found in the current Fulbright Award Catalog. Application deadline is Monday, August 3, 2015.
