Saints continue streak with 11-3 win over Seminole State

Gainesville, FL – The NJCAA #9/FCSAA #3 Santa Fe Saints put up double digits for the fourth straight game, defeating Seminole State College 11-3 in the first game of the three game series. Over the course of their recent four game winning streak, SF has outscored their opponents 46-7. They now sit at 26-7 overall and are 13-3 in the Mid-Florida Conference, trailing St. John's River State (37-6, 12-2 MFC) by percentage points for first place.
Tom Watson started on the mound for Santa Fe and allowed two earned runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts in seven solid innings of work. Bryan Neal and Call Graham each tossed a perfect inning of release.
The SF offense took care of business again, piling up 11 runs on nine hits. Cole Parks had a big day, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, Cliff Bryant stayed white hit with a 2-for-3, three run, one RBI day, and Nick Horvath was 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored.
Santa Fe opened the scoring with a run in the first and blew it open in the second with four more to make it a 5-1 lead. Parks and Horvath had the big RBI hits in that frame.
Seminole scored two in the third on a SF throwing error, but the Saints answered in the bottom of the third on RBI by Hugo Valdes and Parks.
They padded their lead in the sixth and seventh with two runs in each inning to take an 11-3 lead, and eventual final outcome.
The Saints and Raiders will continue their three game series on Wednesday, April 8at 3:00 PM in Sanford. The final game of the series will be on Friday, April 10 in Gainesville at 3:00 PM. Fans can watch that game live at www.ihigh.com/santafesaints
