Bystander intervention training available spring 2015
December 9, 2014
Who is a bystander? Someone is a bystander when he or she notices that something about a situation is wrong and they choose not to say or do anything. The goals of bystander intervention training are to challenge the current understanding about what it means to be a bystander and to encourage people to step up and help when they see the opportunity.
This positive bystander model calls for more than just simply targeting individuals as potential perpetrators or victims, but also changing the culture towards sexual violence on campus.
Please contact Lara Zwilling at 352-395-5495 in the Counseling Center to schedule bystander intervention training today. Let's create a Santa Fe College community of responsibility!
