SF Volleyball players named All-State and All-Conference

November 26, 2014

Santa Fe sophomore Ruth Harrington capped her lone season in Gainesville by being named FCSAA First Team All-State, and Mid-Florida Conference First Team after helping guide SF to a MFC Title, leading the team in kills along the way.

Harrington finished the year with 444 kills on 1,160 total attempts, good for a .278 hitting percentage.  She was equally effective defensively, finishing second on the team with 385 digs and racked up 19 double doubles, tops on the team.

Also named to the MFC First Team were freshman middle Kaylin Powell and freshman setter Farah Rajaee.  Powell completed her first collegiate season with 334 kills, and a team high .370 hitting percentage, to go with 98 blocks.  Rajaee, the team's primary setter all season, had 1,224 assists and also led the team with 53 service aces.

Savannah Young, the only other sophomore on the Saints roster, was named to the MFC Second Team.  She was third on the team with 267 kills and 344 digs.  Like Harrington, she was a two way player who had eight double doubles, and set a single game record with 36 digs against the College of Central Florida in the final match of the season.
